The FK 5-1-12 clean agent fire suppression system is an advanced solution designed to protect sensitive and high-value environments. The agent is colorless, odorless, electrically non-conductive, and evaporates rapidly upon discharge, leaving no residue and causing no damage to electronic equipment.
FK 5-1-12 Clean Agent Fire Suppression System
Application
FK 5-1-12 is a clean extinguishing agent designed for the protection of sensitive and high-value assets where the use of water-based systems could cause irreversible damage. It is ideal for areas such as telecommunications facilities, data processing centers, museums, archives, banks, hospitals, and other mission-critical environments.
Description
FK 5-1-12 is an odorless, colorless, electrically non-conductive fluid that evaporates rapidly upon discharge. It is developed as a modern alternative to Halon, offering high extinguishing performance with minimal environmental impact.
At atmospheric pressure, the agent appears as a clear liquid similar to water, flowing and dispersing in a comparable manner without wetting or damaging protected equipment. Upon discharge, it vaporizes into a clean, colorless gas that suppresses fire efficiently without leaving residue.
Environmental characteristics
- Zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP)
- Negligible Global Warming Potential (GWP)
- Atmospheric lifetime of approximately 5 days
- Not restricted under the Kyoto Protocol
- Environmentally responsible fire protection solution
Safety and performance
- Alternative to Halon
- High extinguishing efficiency with low design concentration (5.3%)
- High safety margin (up to 79%)
- Non-toxic, non-corrosive, electrically non-conductive
- Does not damage electronic or sensitive equipment
- Minimum installation footprint
- Low viscosity and easy handling
- Easy refill and maintenance
- No restrictions for sea, air, or land transport
- Compliant with ISO 14520-5 and NFPA 2001
System configuration
The agent is stored in cylinders as a liquid pressurized with Nitrogen. Upon activation, it is discharged and transforms into a clean gas to extinguish the fire rapidly and effectively.
Cylinders are pressurized with Nitrogen at 24 bar or 42 bar (at 20°C). The relatively low operating pressure allows the use of conventional piping and fittings, contributing to reduced installation costs.
Advantages over traditional water systems
- No water damage to equipment or documentation
- Suitable for environments where water is not feasible
- Safe for use around electronic devices
- Electronic equipment can be exposed to the agent without damage
- Rapid evaporation without residue
Typical applications (Total Flooding Systems)
- Data processing rooms
- Server rooms and computer rooms
- Telecommunications and communication centers
- Archives, museums, libraries
- Banks and hospitals
- False floors and ceilings
- Engine compartments
- Cargo ships and specialized vehicles
FK 5-1-12 provides reliable, environmentally responsible, and equipment-safe fire protection for critical infrastructures where operational continuity and asset preservation are essential.
